Right-wing operative slashes own tire, blames ACORN

If Doug Hoffman - the Conservative Party lunatic in upstate New York - had won his House election on Tuesday, at least we'd have gotten one consolation: We'd be spending a lot less money on comedy clubs, because Hoffman would provide us enough laughter at his own expense to last us a while.

While voting was still going on, Hoffman accused Democratic opponent Bill Owens (who went on to win) of stealing the election.

Later, Hoffman claimed that ACORN had slashed the tire on a car belonging to one of his campaign staffers.

But then it turned out this was all a hoax.

The staffer in question had slashed the tire himself in an effort to frame opponents.

What? He didn't carve a backwards 'B' into the tire?
