Meet Bruce Thompson, a Republican former county commissioner in Shelby County, Tennessee.This week, Thompson pleaded guilty to a federal mail fraud charge after being accused of abusing his position to mislead a construction business into thinking he could control the Memphis school board's vote on a lucrative contract to build 3 new schools. Other mail fraud counts and a count of extortion were dismissed under a plea bargain.
Oops.
All this after Thompson kept proclaiming how innocent he was.
Oh well. Another day, another crooked Republican disgraced for life.
