Australian government endorses drugging kids

I reported in June that the right-wing corporatists were determined to make Australia another Ritalin nation, and now the Australian government has just handed them a big victory.

For the first time, the government has decreed that Ritalin (methylphenidate) and other drugs should be a "first-line treatment" for ADHD. The government recommended against exercise and better food.

What fucklog thought this one up?

Much of the world is turning against Ritalin, as adverse affects (even death) result from the drug. It's astonishing that any government would start recommending Ritalin now.

But Australian parents and experts are criticizing the government's new guidelines, citing the drug company influence behind the new rules.
