Just from its very name, few entities seem as dignified as the Library of Congress. Indeed, this libe is one of the U.S. government's most important institutions.
But one day back in the late '80s, the dignity of the Library of Congress met its match at the hands of one of my high school classmates. Something uproarious happened at my high school in the presence of a guest speaker from the Library of Congress. Can you guess what it was? Well, our latest 'LCQ' will tell ya...

Here...I'll throw you a bone and make a comment. Your problem with advertising isn't that "the blog ad industry has blackballed" you. Its that advertisers place ads where people can see their ads. Your Alexa ranking is above 12 Million. That means you have basically no traffic. No one comes to your blog. So why would advertisers place ads here? You fade in and out of your character. If you picked one and stuck with it, then you might gain an audience. Audience equals traffic. Traffic equals ads. I realize that these are horrible Capitalist ideas, but hey...
ReplyDeleteActually, AdSense pulled this blog's account in 2010 because of its political views. Then the next ad server I had did the same.
DeleteSo yes, I am being blackballed. That's a verifiable fact.
Well, that's not surprising. AdSense is super fickle. They have guidelines that must be adhered to. Folks on the opposite political spectrum experience the same. So, it's not specific to your political leanings. Get your Alexa rankings up and offer $1 a day advertizing banners (in 30 day bundles) for politically like minded advertisers. They drop bucks like that all day.
DeleteThey've never blackballed a conservative website though. They only blackball liberal sites, as far as I can tell.
DeleteOh, yes they have. Believe me. But, its not really "blackballing". They have a brand and they want to protect it, so they have well established guidelines. You could get a liberal/left leaning organization to spend $300 for a 1 month banner ad, then take that $300 and advertize your blog on Facebook to increase traffic. Rinse and repeat for a couple/few months until your Alexa rankings are up, then you might have advertiser competition for one of the 6 monthly banners you offer. Its not a pipe dream. Very common.
DeleteFor the record, I followed AdSense's guidelines to the very letter.
DeleteI dont expect you to approve that comment. Just knowing you read the reality of it is good enough. Best of luck.
