Sorry to report the death of Edwin Kagin, a local attorney who championed religious freedom cases. Kagin died late last month at the age of 73.
Kagin ran for Kentucky Supreme Court back in 1998 against a conservative incumbent. He also ran for Kentucky Senate in 2000. In his later years, he continued to be a strong advocate of separation of church and state.
Although he lived in Union, Kentucky, the local press did not cover his death - though the New York Times did:
