2 nights at Babcock and the world's your oyster...

For the past few days, I was on a trip to New River Gorge National Park in West Virginia and camped out a couple nights at Babcock State Park. It's obligatory that I post here that LAP bunker blasts were repeatedly overheard at the campsite on both nights.

NKU in a bottle of poo

My jaunt to the University of Cincinnati last October wasn't my only Roads Scholaring at a local college campus that month. I also pibbed over to Northern Kentucky Unversity, and that outing yielded another 11 Scholaring photos.

Peep 'em now before they peep you...

Bush whines about modern GOP

Why does anyone give a shit what the worst so-called President in the country's history thinks?

This morning, NBC's Today took a break from shaming people for crooked teeth by conducting a rare interview with the despicable George W. Bush. I guess that's fitting because today is Hitler's birthday.

Bush complained that today's Republican Party is "isolationist, protectionist, and to a certain extent nativist." Back in 2000, Bush received an endorsement from an Alabama-based Ku Klux Klan chapter, so he has no business accusing anyone else of being nativist.

And if the GOP is protectionist and isolationist, isn't that an improvement over supporting unfair trade policies and pointless wars like Bush did?

Trump was bad, but even he wasn't the GOP's nadir. Bush and the Tea Party were. Yet Today and other media sources are implying Bush was some sort of moderating force. This is the man who gave us the Patriot Act, the Iraq War, Real ID, a recession, climate crisis denial, corporate mergers, mass incarceration, and terrorism, and he's being painted as a "get things done" moderate.

I'm just waiting for someone in the "Greater Cincinnati Politics" group on Facebook to say I'm not a good Democrat because I dared to speak ill of poor Bush.

April bubblings bring more May bubblings

Today at Kroger, some woman bubbled repeatedly. The bubs were blue, as opposed to the green that's become the big craze lately.

Roads Scholaring gets the ol' college try!

Last October, I went Roads Scholaring at some of Cincinnati's college campuses. This event was as roadly as other recent Scholarings, and it yielded 16 photos.

I had a dream someone shit on the floor at school

I just had possibly the strangest dream ever! This is weirder than any dream that included Ronald Reagan or the one where John Madden hosted a celebrity daredevils TV special where famous people kept falling to their deaths and he said, "Boom!"

In the latest dream, I was back in high school, and I was sent to live in Brazil. My teacher there was one of my old middle school classmates (now an adult), and she had written an entire encyclopedia and was negotiating a treaty on Brazilian fishing rights in U.S. waters. Everybody at this school spoke English. I was kicked out of this class for laughing uncontrollably. The teacher in my new class invited me to appear in a school musical.

Then we were in line in the cafeteria. There was a piece of shit on the floor. It wasn't a huge log, but it was slightly bigger than just a pebble poop. A classmate picked it up off the ground before he discovered what it was and threw it aside. Then he walked up to the teacher and said, "There's a piece of shit on the floor."

When I woke up, I was singing those words to a catchy little tune! "There's a piece of shit on the floor...There's a piece of shit on the floor..."

Biden confiscates land to build Trump border wall

I'm sure a few of you out there voted for Joe Biden so he would stop shit like this, but this story proves he's just as miserable as most other recent Presidents.

Back in August, candidate Biden was asked about the Trump regime's idiotic border wall. Biden said that not only would he halt its construction but specifically said his administration was not going to seize land to build it: "End. Stop. Done. Over. Not gonna do it."

But guess what's he's doing now? The Biden regime has seized a Texas family's land to build the wall - drawing outrage from immigration advocates and others. The family had also fought efforts by the George W. Bush thugocracy to take their land, but Trump restarted this fight - and Biden is continuing it. As a result, just days ago, U.S. District Judge Micaela Alvarez - a Bush appointee - granted the government immediate possession of the land, citing its need for "urgency of possession."

The tyranny continues. What a shock!

People are actually suing schools

Some of the most rotten people I've ever met were people in charge of schools, and they deserve to be not just sued but absolutely humiliated. Sadly, the amount of conspiracy in place to shield schools from accountability is usually a bridge too far.

But our schools aren't completely off the hook.

The school system in Petaluma, California, is facing a federal lawsuit from a former student because of a pattern of harassment that started there in 2019. School officials refused to take action against this harassment. The events forced her to enroll in remote learning - creating an inferior learning experience.

Of course, most schools now are forcing everyone to take remote learning, so hopefully there will be more lawsuits over that.

Schools in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, are being sued after a student who was enrolled in online learning was expelled because a BB gun was visible in the background as he took an online class from his bedroom. The ACLU finally awoke from its slumber by filing a brief supporting this federal suit. After the expulsion was imposed, Louisiana lawmakers introduced a bipartisan bill to implement new appeals processes for students punished by schools. The bill was signed into law.

But I think we can all agree there's still way too many barriers to suing schools. Schools need to have their wings clipped too every now and then.

A person bubbled in the Cov

Today. after I got my second dose of COVID-19 vaccine, we stopped at the Kroger on Madison Avenue in Covington. Some woman pulling out of the store in her car bubbled.
