What? 2 positive stories about Congress in one day?

This has to be a first, huh?

Today, House leaders promised a vote soon not just on health care reform but on an honest-to-goodness single payer health care system - which is perhaps the best reform that could be made.

Lawmakers who support single payer were utterly floored that leaders even allowed them a vote.

Will single payer pass? If the Democrats want to prove they're not still dominated by the DLC, this is their chance.

  1. If it some how passed the House and Senate, do you think Obama would sign the bill or veto it? He says he's against single-payer.

  2. Sign it, because:

    1) It's better than what we have now; and

    2) Do you really think he wants to be defeated in the 2012 primary?

  3. You know I disagree with one, and as for two, I think Obama wants control over health care but publicly opposes such a power grab because such a move would be unpopular. No one's going to seriously challenge Obama in the democratic primary. Unless you're planning to.
