Bush to veto waterboarding ban

Almost anyone would agree waterboarding is a form of torture - and thus would be nixed as an interrogation method. Yesterday the Senate finally passed a bill that would have the CIA adopt the Army's rules against this drowning simulation and similar techniques.

It should have passed by a lot more than 51 to 45 - especially now that Bush is just going to veto the bill. "The President [sic] will veto that bill," boasted White House spokeswoman Dana Perino.

Now Bush is going to go down in history as the so-called President who favored torture. Not like he wouldn't anyway, because it's torture just to watch him speak.

Incidentally, John McCain said waterboarding "should be banned" - but he voted against the ban anyway. So this is the type of doublespeak we're in for if so-called "maverick" McAin't becomes President.
