Antiwar vets banned from parade

This is yet another example of the McCarthyist blackballing of anyone who dares to oppose Bush's war.

In Bellingham, Washington, an organization called North Olympic Peninsula Veterans for Peace has been banned from the annual Armed Forces Day parade because the group opposes the war. The local Chamber of Commerce sent the group a stern letter of rejection.

The antiwar group is made up of military veterans. The Chamber of Commerce is treating veterans this way? North Olympic Peninsula Veterans for Peace is composed of people who bravely served their country, and now that they've come home, they're getting spit on by the Chamber of Commerce.

Since it's an Armed Forces Day parade, why shouldn't a veterans group be allowed to march in it?
