GOP politician charged in sex sting

Andrew Douglas Franz, 41, is a military science professor at Seattle University. But police in Canon City, Colorado, have now charged Franz with 8 counts related to attempting to have sex with an under-age girl. He allegedly tried to pick up a 13-year-old girl on the Internet and arranged the encounter through what he thought was the girl's mother. But the girl's mother was actually a cop conducting a police sting.

You'd think these guys like Franz would at least be smart enough not to try to pick up under-age girls online, because of all the stings like this. But they never learn - because most stupid people don't.

How the hell did this idiot ever get to be a professor? Professors are supposed to be smart, but maybe Andrew Franz is like the one on 'Gilligan's Island' who didn't even know how to build a raft!

It turns out Franz had political aspirations. In 2006 he was a candidate for the Washington State Legislature. And we'll let you guess the party affiliation.

You guessed right: He's a Republican.

Franz's failed political bid had strong support from conservatives like current gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi. Rossi, as you may know, threw a Bob Dornan-style shitfit after losing in 2004 and accused the big, mean libs of rigging the election.

Of course, the Grand Old Perverts are now defending Andrew Franz in his latest scandal.

How many Republican politicians now have been charged for something like this just in the past year? A few zillion?
