Snack Break

+ In the Arizona bailiwick of embattled authoritarian Sheriff Joe Arpaio, the right-wing failures never end.

After the NRA endorsed militarizing America's schools by filling them with armed guards, Arpaio promptly gathered a posse of civilians to patrol Maricopa County schools to bust kids they don't like. Now it turns out many members of Arpaio's posse have criminal records the size of a phone book. Their past crimes range from sexual assault against children to impersonating the police.

+ Occupy lives on, but the Tea Party is nearly gone. The Tea Party has tainted the Tea Party branding so much that the South Florida Tea Party (who gave us serial liar Marco Rubio) is changing its name. But don't worry, if this fails, the Tea Party will keep coming back under different names until time takes its course.

+ Here's a story that may signal a long-overdue rebirth of rural progressive populism:

I guess the town of Vicco, Kentucky, knows how to think for itself - instead of being bossed around by dominionists and other Wall Street 1-percenters.
