Horrible Hephzibah House

Kids Helping Kids isn't the only teen confinement facility being protested.

In June, I told you about a confirmedly abusive facility for teenage girls in Warsaw, Indiana, that for decades has hid behind religion. The facility, known as Hephzibah House, is affiliated with a fundamentalist church and is based in part on Lester Roloff's dangerous practices.

The center was protested in June - and now another protest has occurred against the facility. I wasn't at this demonstration (or the June one), for it is hundreds of miles away. But the protest drew not only survivors of Hephzibah House but also those of other abusive programs.

It's a fight everyone is in together. Whether you were abused by a religious "boarding school", a cult-like so-called "rehab", or a money-grubbing "hospital", the fight is yours!

The Cincinnati media has mostly dropped the ball regarding KHK and other programs. But the media in northern Indiana has covered the Hephzibah House protests. Here's one clip:

  1. Believe it or not, a local leader sees no problem with this place and doesn't think Hephzibah is bad at all. He is willing to support Hephzibah completely.

    What!!!!!!

    Hello... Mcfly....

Who is this Whacko? I'll tell you who he is. He's Indiana Dist. 18 State Representative DAVE WOLKINS.

He actually said, "The women's impression that what they underwent was abuse is just one interpretation."

Oh really? What these women went through just so happens to be the legal definition of torture. Would torture fall under the category of abuse Dave?

Just for the record, Dave Wolkins supports child abuse and child torture, and also protects those who commit these heinous acts.

Political corruption rears its ugly head again.

Hey Tim, do you know anything about IN Rep. Dave Wolkins? I'm sure he has a spotless record of good doery.

  2. I don't think I've heard of Dave Wolkins, unless he was the guy who a few months ago said he would oppose any regulation on Hephzibah House.

He sounds like someone who ought to be impeached.

  3. I am a survivor of Hephzibah House. Thanks so much for posting our info on your page!
Oh yeah, and Dave Wolkins is the guy who said he needed a little time to think about whether or not it was OK to beat a girl til she was bloody and bruised (he's the state rep in the district where HH is located)!

  4. Hey, I'm also from Hephzibah House. Thanks for caring enough to put us on your site! I don't know enough about Wolkins to be able to say anything good or bad about him but I hope he comes to his senses soon! Maybe he has been brainwashed by HH as well?

  5. Thank you so much for posting this Tim. This gentleman might be in denial, or maybe he just doesn't care about child abuse at all, but he will not be able to hide from his shameful behavior forever. After all, abuse is much harder to hide, when people like you care enough to place it in plain sight for all to see. My name is Amy, and I am a former Hephzibah House survivor.
