McCainiacs delusional!

The wingnutosphere has been shouting it from the rooftops all weekend: McCain is leading in the polls! Zogby has him up by 1%!

Except it isn't true. They keep repeating it, but (unless I'm missing something) it's flat-out wrong.

One of the big right-wing blogs gloats, "According to Zogby, McCain outpolled the Moonbat Messiah 48% to 47% on Friday."

But I checked Zogby's numbers for Friday: Zogby said Obama had 49.1%, and McCain was down at 44.1% - a 5% edge for Obama.

And Zogby's numbers are actually more favorable to Republicans than other polls. SurveyUSA has been known to issue press releases prematurely declaring GOP victories, but their numbers are even bleaker for the McCain camp.

How do you get a 1% Republican lead out of a scientific survey that shows a 5% Democratic win? Maybe I'm just weird, but I honestly don't know.

  1. That was two days ago. Let's get up to speed.

  2. If it was 2 days ago, they should quit gloating about it by now.

Incidentally, the polls that came out yesterday and today are even more favorable to Obama.

  3. I've heard no such gloating. Those who haven't joined the Barack Obama cult of personality are pretty glum about the future of this country right now.

  4. Gee--let's see:
    - 2 trillion in debt
    - 2 wars (1 unnecessary)
    - Over 3000 signing statements
    - over 4000 dead service men and women
    - 45000 maimed
    - 500,000 Iraqi dead
    - Worldwide financial melt down
I think the GOP cult of delusionality
has done enough damage to the US and the world...

  5. Jeff, I could not have said it better myself. Just facts not opinions. A tough pill for some to swallow

  6. I won't excuse Republican blunders, they deserve to lose. But putting Democrats who WILL NOT REST until every last one of us is COMPLETELY dependent on the federal government for EVERYTHING is not the answer. They've capitalized on overstated economic turmoil to win this election and they will use it as a mandate to seize more power. It's fearmongering. Bush did this post-9/11 at the height of fear of terrorism to expand Washington's police powers. Americans were willing to accept the misnamed Patriot Act and other abuses of constitutional rights in exchange for security. Obama fully expects to make a similar power grab, granting the government greater control over its people in exchange for a sense of economic security. Obama's charisma and his gift as an orator make him persuasive and, given his agenda, dangerous.

  7. Well, the Bush regime has continued on the path of deregulation which gives corporations too much power over the people. Big oil, Big Pharma, Big healthcare, and so on and so forth. Not to mention the Big companies that profit from the war in Iraq. WMD's???? stay the course??? Whatever.

We don't need more government but we do need proper allocation of the government we do have. Bush and the GOP have shown that they are the greater of two evils and are unwilling to stop making bad choices. This isn't just a Bush thing, this is a party thing.

The way I see it I only have one good choice, vote out the Republicans because they need a wake up call. Democrats will see the power of the people and hopefully keep in line. If not, we will eventually see social upheavals and I really hope we are not that far along.

What will Obama do? Nobody knows. I will vote and cross my fingers.
