Police try suppressing Hempfest

The War on Drugs means suppression of dissent. It's a War on People.

On Saturday, the annual Hempfest fundraising bash was held outside Cincinnati. No illegal activity takes place at these parties, and there have never been problems with Hempfest in the 13 years it's been going on.

Nonetheless, the Regional Enforcement Narcotics Unit - a group of Cincinnati area police - threatened to revoke the liquor license from the business where Hempfest took place just for daring to rent out to Hempfest's organizers. A lawyer who was on hand said this was nothing but a high-handed effort by law enforcement to stifle dissent.

RENU even announced it would place undercover cops at Hempfest. Gee, there must not be any real crime in the entire Cincinnati area, if RENU has the manpower to do such a thing. But Hempfest went on as planned. The drug warriors didn't win that battle!

Two years ago, Cincinnati stiffified its own marijuana law to make it stricter than state law. This proved the fuckheaded War on Drugs has only intensified years after it was found to be a total fiasco.
