Air America host brutally assaulted?

Randi Rhodes, a talk show host on liberal talk radio network Air America, was reportedly attacked on Sunday near her apartment in New York - which knocked out several teeth and forced her to miss several of her shows. (If you're unfamiliar with Air America, it's because the radio industry is so bent on silencing progressive views that the network only has about 60 affiliates nationwide even though there's 302 Arbitron-rated markets. Meanwhile, a right-wing has-been like Rush Limbaugh has about 550 affiliates.)

Fellow Air America personality Jon Elliott believes the incident was politically motivated and not just an ordinary mugging, for Rhodes was carrying no purse or jewelry. I think so too. The dinosaur media can lie to us about Giuliani eliminating violent crime from his city, but it'll ignore this crime even if it is proven to be a political attack. (Incidentally, the area where Rhodes was attacked has one of the lowest crime rates in the otherwise crime-plagued city, so that's more evidence it probably wasn't just a plain old mugging.)

"Is this an attempt by the right-wing hate machine to silence one of our own?" Elliott inquired. "Are we threatening them? Are they afraid that we're winning? Are they trying to silence, intimidate us?" Anyone who possesses cerebral tissue knows the answer to the last question (and can probably make a good guess at the others), because I've worked in suburban Cincinnati (the geographic heart of the New Right experiment), and I know the kind of violence the Freeper types are capable of.

One commenter on the blog where we first read of the apparent attack asked, "Of all the conservatives you have ever known, how many advocate violence under circumstances other than self defense?" Um, lots of 'em. Another commenter, a self-described conservative, said, "We are not animals." I know. Many conservatives I've met are lower than animals. A turtle or a horse doesn't go around swaggering about their sadisitc "electric bleachers" proposal for juvenile offenders (like the conservatives we've met do). Conservatives are by and large nasty "people", as some of their other blog comments prove.

If you think the incident against Randi Rhodes couldn't be politically motivated, think again. Denver talk show host Alan Berg was assassinated by right-wing extremists for his political views. KPFT in Houston has been attacked for its progressive leanings, including just recently when gunshots were fired through the studio. Air America host Thom Hartmann says he's found 3 bullet holes in his car.

Modern conservatives are such cowards and bullies that they won't fight in wars that they start, yet they fire gunshots at radio stations and kill talk show hosts they disagree with. They've destroyed their own souls.

  1. Hi mlong,

Even if Randi only fell (with no crime committed), you understand why we thought she was attacked by Freeps. Don't want us to think she was attacked in a politcal crime?? Then the Freeps shouldn't attack people in political crimes.

    It's that simple.

No hoax here, just bad info by the police...so the conservs/funds can stop gloating about it now.

No crime was committed but you expect to be given a pass for a blatant lie because you feel that it's justified by some delusion of victimhood?
But during the '04 election we have Dem staffers and family slashing tires to prevent people from getting to the polls and that's not criminal, 'they're just over-zealous'.
Yet again the truth dies in the face of liberal lies.

So how exactly does demanding the truth be told and that people be held accountable for their words become 'gloating'?
So the Police saying that they have no record of a crime being reported or occurring is 'bad info' but the hysterical and false accusations of the DJ are just 'telling it like it could have been.'

The simple fact is Jon Elliott lied.
No fancy excuses, no questionable 'moral justifications'.
He made a statement not based on facts or the truth and then proceeded to place blame and attack based on nothing.

    Sorry, that is just wrong.

  3. Where's the lie, Kestryll??

Jon Elliott was speculating which I think is fair. That he thought it was an attack at all was due to bad police info.

I smell a rat...the whole thing just sounds eerily Karl Rovian to me. I think somebody with the city gave bad info to make it look like RR was staging an attack when it was just a fall.

And please provide proof the Dems slashed tires.

One more observation....on your profile you talk about being pro-gun, yet you support the GOP which (under Bush) has proven to be the party of anti-gunners. (Bush has been far more anti-gun than Clinton, that is for certain.)

  4. This fiasco is the blame based face of liberalism. Liars, and thieves. Air America is a sham, with no credibility.

  5. Who was the last political Liberal physically assaulted for political reasons? On the other hand, I can name at least a dozen Conservatives who have been the target of physical attacks by savages who disagree with them.

  6. "Who was the last political Liberal physically assaulted for political reasons?"

The man who runs this blog maybe?? Ask him sometime about what happened to himself and a young lady when Bush came to town.

And hey Phil, old pal, if you can name a dozen conservatives who were a target of physical attacks...then by all means please name them. Or admit you're full of shit.

  7. The Reality Based Community wants proof Dems slashed tires. Here it is: http://michellemalkin.com/2006/04/26/jail-time-for-tire-slashers/

The Reality Based Community also claims Pres. Bush has been more anti-gun than Slick Willy was. Site an example please. What anti-gun law has Pres. Bush pushed?

    Step off. You're spewing nonsense.

  8. No, Malkin is the location of the report. Either it occured, or it didn't. Are you saying the crime never happened?

    ReplyDelete
  9. The point Mr. Collins was making, Phil (which you would know if you knew how to read) is that Malkin is not credible.

You have yet to cite any source other than Malkin.

I have read with interest the comments here though..for it does put conservative meanness on display for the world...

  10. You like USA Today better? Just because Malkin writes about the crime doesn't mean you can dismiss the actions of the lunitic Libs.

    http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2005-01-24-tires-slashed_x.htm

Nice attempt at trying to brush away what happened just because Malkin wites about it.

  11. Since we're obviously going around in circles with "Philip Marlow", let me lay it on the line...

I don't believe you, Phil. How's that? I don't believe there was a tire slashing, and I believe it was a hoax.

OTOH, didn't Bandit post something on his site about the GOP in Kentucky slashing tires of school buses rented by the Dems?? Maybe 2004/2005??

  12. Okay, we've shown Democrats actually DID attempt to affect an election by committing criminal acts. I'm still waiting for someone to provide one atom of evidence showing Pres. Bush is more anti-gun than Pres. Trailer Trash was.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Cruella told you once, Phil, she doesn't believe you. I don't either.

As for the gun stuff, it was AG Alberto Gonzales (a Bush appointee) who lobbied for a bill to let the AG revoke the gun license of anyone he chooses.

  14. You don't believe there was a trial? You don't believe fines were paid? I've heard of spherical ignorance before, but I've never actually seen an example of it. Thank you.

  15. Would you believe the judge who presided over the trial? His name is Michael Brennan, and you can reach him at the courthouse (404) 278-4772 .

You two claim you don't believe it. The fact is you don't WANT to believe it. That's fine. You can run from the truth all ya want.

  16. Hahahahahahaha the guy who actually went to trial for the felony got ACQUITTED!!!!!!!!!

Philip Marlow are you really so fucking stupid that you can't even read what the article says??????

    YOU ARE DUMB!!!!!!!!!

All charged with felonies, and not a single felony conviction!!!! The misdemeanors were only because the other guys didn't feel like fighting it, because the misdemeanor punishment is so small. (Who could blame the others for not wanting to go on trial for a felony, since the system is stacked so much.)

And BTW Phil it was a JURY trial...what the judge believes isn't what convicts or acquits.

Add me to the list of people here who don't believe your lies Phil.

Also, Rick Graber, the GOP nazi quoted in the article, was later accused of trespassing at the home of a seminary student who he falsely accused of voting twice. LOOK IT UP PHIL!!!!!!!!!

  18. Dig a little deeper in to the story.
    From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
    http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=418855
    "Posted: April 26, 2006

Tossing aside a plea agreement that called for probation, Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Michael B. Brennan sentenced four Democratic Party workers to jail Wednesday for slashing tires on 25 vans rented by Republicans to take voters to polls for the 2004 presidential election.
Calling the vandalism more than harmless hijinks, Brennan admonished the men, including the sons of two prominent Milwaukee politicians, for disenfranchising voters."

It seems disenfranchisement is only bad when it's an accusation against a conservative.
It did happen, and jail time was handed out.

Sentence and charge are really moot anyway, the claim was that it did not happen. It has been proven to have happened so now you move on to trying to cloud the issue with ancillary statements. Hoping that perhaps no one will notice that ou were wrong.
Facts don't lie and they don't go away.

    Reality,
where did I state that I am a supporter of Bush or the GOP?
Does the distaste for liberal propaganda automatically make one Republican?

    "Where is the lie?"
You can count Jon Elliot as hysterical hyperbole perhaps but to later have Bill Press making the same claims moves it from misinformation to deception.

    Cruella
I have read with interest the comments here though..for it does put conservative meanness on display for the world...
    As opposed to liberal meanness?
Blind and inaccurate accusations that conservatives attacked RR.
This kind and tolernt response to a dissenting opinion, "Tom Collins said... Shut the fuck up, Dave-id."
Oh, and in the face of overwhelming proof, implying that Phil was lying about the tire slashing event.

It seems that liberal meanness is every bit as evident in this blog as any other.

  19. RBC write that AG Gonzales lobbied for a bill that would allow an AG to cancel FFLs for any reason. Notice RBC doesn't post a link to suppot the claim. RBC also doesn't say on if the lobbying effort was sucessful, assuming there actually was one.

This is known as thowing poo at the wall, hoping something sticks. Make alligations, with no supporting evidence, and hope people believe him.

The fact is, Hillary's husband was opposed to the private ownership of firearms, and supported the Brady Bill. I wonder what Mz. Clinton's opinion on the Brady Bill is, now that she's running for Pres. Funny how she's not saying one word about it. She knows better.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I remember reading (I think it was the CFOTD blog???) that the men were falsely convicted (probably on faked evidence).

Conveniently the FNC/Wash Times gang ignores that part.

    ReplyDelete
  21. At least the Brady Bull didn't ban private ownership of guns in general.....The Gonzales bill in effect would (except of course for his fund friends).

    ReplyDelete
  22. More poo, same wall. Just waiting for something from you to show this actually happened.

  25. First I've tried this here so hopefully this will work.....

    http://media.graytvinc.com/images/Larry-Northern.jpg

That picture is a man by the name of Larry Northern.

    According to the CFOTD blog:

Larry Northern is a right-wing guy of some note in the Waco, Texas, area. He's one of these arrogant exurban types who likes to robotically spout off right-wing mantras he learns from talk radio. He's got a nice job and makes a lot of money, but it's never enough to please him, because he's spoiled.

Northern has gotten himself in trouble now as he's taken his pickup truck - dragging a pipe and chains - and intentionally run over wooden crosses at antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan's campsite. Now he's charged with criminal mischief for crushing the crosses. Like a maniac, he swerved in and out of the memorial, without regard for bystanders.

Doesn't this fuckup have anything better to do with his life? Wait, he's a conservative. He doesn't.

A perfect example of conservative violence against...everyone

    ReplyDelete
  26. I also sourced USA Today, brain pan. So enlighten everyone. What was Mr. Northern convicted of, and what was his sentence?

  27. Look it up yourself if you think you're so smart....

    ReplyDelete
  28. 1) I never said I thought I was smart.

    2) It's common practice for someone making an alligation to also provide something backing up the claim. Notice how I did it in previous posts?

  35. I am a conservative but a crime is a crime. If Randi was attaced,I hope the attacker is caught and punished.

This not not negate the fact that( Limbaugh,Savage,Levin inc.)this out of control right wing racist hate mongering terror machine has to be stopped before it sends the US up in flames.

I have been an avid listener of radio including short wave radio for the past fifty five yeears and never have I heard such hatred and right wing terror as I am hearing now from some of these right wing radio talk shows in markets like Washington and Detroit even.
