Grave vandal not an antiwar activist; wingnuts wrong

Here it comes! Television's most exciting hour of fantastic prizes! The fabulous 60-minute 'Wingnuts Are Wrong'!

Recently the conservative blogs had a field day when someone desecrated the grave of a Marine who was killed in the war. Conservatives love it when stuff like this happens, because they like blaming antiwar activists for it. The wingnutosphere immediately jumped to the conclusion that, because it was the grave of a Marine, it had to be peace activists who vandalized it. They didn't just speculate. They claimed outright that this was so.

I knew the wingnuts were full of shit, and that if I just had a little patience they'd be proven wrong in front of the whole world (again). My patience paid off, because now police in Liberty, Texas, have a suspect under arrest - and he's not an antiwar activist at all. According to investigators, the 41-year-old suspect damaged the grave while he was trying to steal the wire stands that held the flowers so he could sell them to a floral shop.

Now will the wingnutosphere apologize for lying outright? They said an antiwar person did it - which turned out not to be true. But if I was a betting man, I'd wager they're never going to retract their original claim, because they knew it was a lie in the first place.

More proof the wingnutosphere is nothing but a bunch of liars.

  1. Now Bandit, let's recall your gaff a week or two ago when you jumped all over reports that a liberal radio host was mugged. It turned out to be false and you flatly refused to appologize for your finger pointing, claiming you were justified because conservatives were guilty of political attacks. If that's kind of reasoning that we go by here at The Pail, the "wingnuts" are justified in suspecting the antiwar crusade's involvement. A great many of the peaceniks and, I suspect, even a number of our liberal lawmakers in Washington, are overjoyed at every American soldier's death in Iraq because it is one more knock against the war.

  2. Dear Scheff BoyarDee,

In The very next entry after the supposed mugging, when it was discovered there was no mugging, Bandit posted that there was no mugging. Go back and read it. The "wingnuts" have yet to follow up with the facts on their story. They have done the same thing countless other times.

Bandit had a story awhile back where a GOP guy in the '04 campaign claimed a union painter assaulted him....then it was proven the "union painter" was actually his son and the whole thing was a hoax. The conserv sites only reported the "assault"....they never followed up when it was found to be a hoax.

If the "peaceniks" like it when our soldiers get killed, why do they support ending the war?? If you're so smart, answer that for us.

    Otherwise retract this slander.

  3. What Scheff said is indeed slander of not just those who want our troops brought home, but the troops themselves.

Scheff, have you ever served in the Armed Forces? Have you ever been to Bosnia? I have.

The experience helped me learn how to be a good citizen, which is something you clearly have not learned. Have you ever contributed a thing to this country? In the months I've looked at this blog, I've never seen you contribute a damn thing to this blog except stupid arguing and Limbaugh-like talking points.

I doubt if you've ever had to sacrifice anything in your whole life, because all your posts sound like something from a fratboy-turned-Fox News host. While you were partying and having fun, millions of Americans were fighting for your freedom which you don't appreciate.

Be All That You Can Be.

  4. IIRC the man who claimed to be attacked by the "painter" held a grudge against unions in general...the event was a Kerry event I think.

He had brought his children to the event, waved a pro-Bush sign, then had his son tear it up and blame it on the "painter".

That's how these types do things.
