BBC admits America in recession

Here's another story you ain't gonna see much of in the American media for a while. You have to look at foreign media like the BBC just to read the truth - as belated as it is.

The BBC reports that America's economic recession - yes, the one the American media has ignored for years and usually just gets worse - has finally come! The recession is confirmed by new unemployment figures.

But of course it ain't "official", ya see. The ruling on whether the U.S. is officially in a recession is made by the National Bureau of Economic Research. That assessment takes as much as 2 years.

Gee, you can see where that's headed, can't you?

At least the BBC is more on top of things than its American counterparts are, even if it did take the ol' Beeb longer than it should have to realize this recession. Looks like the U.S. media is gonna take another 2 years.

  1. Let me guess, you think the government can or should do something about it?
