School district may get Tasers

The fortification of the American school system expands, as the Uniontown, Pennsylvania, school district may get Tasers.

Welcome to BushAmerica - the land of Tasered tots.

The school district's security director boasts of his desire to see Tasers in schools - but parents are outraged (as they should be). Still, the director remains undeterred. He said of the Tasers, "I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it." Which means what?

If I was a betting dude, I'd wager that the first time a Taser is used in the Uniontown schools, the district finds itself the defendant in a lawsuit.

  1. .... Okay, the only way I would ever think of this as a good thing would be if they where giving responsible students the tasers for self defense. But in the schools hands? Great. Now there's going to be a massive influx in brain damaged children because the principle is going to tase the first 12 year old who runs down the hall to class.

I am so glad I have my public school days behind me.

  2. What in the hell could a taser be used for in a school ?!?

Tasers have killed people yet they are still considered non-lethal weapons. Let's be fair, give everyone (including minors) tasers and see what happens. Or we can just not let anyone have tasers and be respectable and civilized. I am tired of hearing about deaths and major injuries from non-lethal weapons.

I would love to be on the jury that decides the fate of a school administer who decided it was a good idea to have a taser lying around a school. Just think of all the things that could go wrong in this situation were tasers available to faculty. Fascist alert!

Next, they'll be lobbying to have students strapped down to beds and administered thorzine as part of the education regimen. Sheesh!

Why is this guy so scared that he needs a taser at a school? Maybe he should get another job so he isn't so scared of children. Maybe it is the same disorder that makes elephants afraid of mice. I am sure it is somewhere in the DSM4.
