Obama releases text of school speech

The wingnutosphere is throwing an utter skizzum about President Obama's speech to America's young people scheduled for tomorrow.

Although they supported forcing schoolchildren to watch Mad Dog Bush's 1991 speech (which was nothing but a political rally to kick off his '92 campaign), they've demanded that schools shun Obama's speech.

From Cranston, Rhode Island, to Plano, Texas, many schools are refusing to show Obama's back-to-school talk.

The text of the President's speech has been released a day early, and you can find it here:

Not much that's controversial or politically charged about that speech, is there? This little pep talk has very little that I didn't hear from adults back in my day. The major difference is that this speech is much more positive, as it doesn't call anyone "too damn lazy" like one of my high school teachers did.

Maybe the right-wingers are mad because Obama's speech urges kids to (gasp!) stay home from school if they're sick. The right-wing brain trust seems to enjoy illnesses being spread, judging by the way they acted if I had to miss school.
