Cookie Monster finally learns about rhyme ('Sesame Street' Wednesday)

The other day, someone said 'Sesame Street'. I laughed, because it was funny.

Since you think 'Sesame Street' is funny too, you've been waiting on the edge of your seat for yet another installment of this feature!

Cookie Monster is known for his weak grasp of literary concepts - particularly basic grammar and rhyme. His weak comprehension of the latter once caused him to try to eat Guy Smiley.

But in one segment with Kermit the Frog, he finally learns what rhyme is all about. And here's a hint: It's not about cookies:

Lots of cookies go to waste in that sketch. When ol' Cooks dumps the cookies from the galoshes, more of them go onto the floor than into his mouth. This greed-induced carelessness is of course a Cookie Monster hallmark.

Maybe the next Cookie Monster poem will go something like this:

This poem 'bout monster
Furry and blue
He like cookies
Don't you too?
One day he take walk
To Mr. Hooper's Store
Monster out of cookies
He really need more
But Mr. Hooper say,
"I'm all sold out"
So monster start to whine
And cry and pout
But monster think of way
To get his dessert
He just walk up the street
And eat Ernie and Bert
