Man denied transplant over marijuana use dies

Are the Nazi drug warriors satisfied now? They just committed another murder with their policies.

A man who was denied a liver transplant because he used medical marijuana has died. This occurred in the state of Washington - a state where medical marijuana is legal. He had a valid prescription for the herb.

This was a man who hadn't used illegal drugs in 40 years, but still he was in effect blackballed just because of his legally authorized marijuana use. The decision to deny him the transplant was made by a committee at the University of Washington Medical Center.

I hope there are some serious criminal charges against the hospital for this, or at least a lawsuit.

This isn't the only time something like this has happened recently. A Cleveland area man was denied a kidney transplant because he tested positive for marijuana. Because he was denied the transplant, he died. Drug tests are wrong 30% of the time, so if a test comes up positive, there's a good chance they hadn't even used the drug. But insurers and hospitals are using these inaccurate tests to make life-or-death decisions.

Hopefully the media will prod the presidential candidates to address this, instead of worrying about this lapel pin "issue."
