Matt Blunt lies about illegally deleting e-mails

If I said Mississippi's Haley Barbour was the worst current governor in America, I might have to take that back. Matt Blunt of Missouri might be worse.

Blunt got a Conservative Fool Of The Day entry after a variety of embarrassing episodes (including his involvement in a group of GOP operatives who disrupted an important legislative meeting by making fart sounds). Now Blunt could be up Bunk Gas Creek now that he's been caught lying about illegally deleting e-mails that were supposed to be kept intact under the state's public records law.

Documents found by reporters prove Blunt was warned by staff attorney Scott Eckersley that deleting the e-mails was against the law. Blunt later fired Eckersley. The proof that Blunt was warned against deleting the e-mails contradicts Blunt's constant cry that he wasn't warned. So in other words, Blunt has been lying all along.

And he continues to lie. Despite solid proof that Eckersley warned him not to erase the e-mails, Blunt still claims Eckersley never warned him. You're an idiot, Matt.

I'm starting to get the feeling that the outcome of the next election is going to provide us some laughs at Matt Blunt's expense.

Matt Blunt needs to go smoke a blunt.

  1. The story behind the story is probably that Matt Blunt is hiding somethin'.....otherwise he wouldn't have defied his own advisors outright by deleting the mails..
