Congress just got more Democratic

I don't know how much difference this makes, because the Democratic Party of today isn't exactly what it was when I first started voting, but here goes it...

A Democratic political newcomer named Bill Foster just won a U.S. House seat in Illinois in a special election caused by Dennis Hastert's long-overdue resignation. In case you've forgotten (and how could you?), Hastert was the sad clod who was the Republican Speaker of the House between Newt's little temper tantrum in the late '90s and the GOP's humiliation of 2006.

This was a heavily Republican district too! That district includes Reagan's old stamping grounds and is centered in exurbs around Chicago and Moline, and the Republicans still couldn't win it even after dumping over $1,000,000 into their campaign!
