Maturity brings progressive politics

An interesting new study says that as people get older, their political views become more liberal.

Although news stories about the study won't use the word, there's a name for it: It's called maturity. The maxim that a liberal is a former conservative who was bullied means that life itself is a long learning process. As we have more experiences, we learn.

With most people, the move away from conservatism might not be a sudden epiphany, but is rather a gradual process.

This study should go a long way to debunking the cult that modern conservatism has become, but the story (when it's covered at all) is treated by the media as a more of a novelty than anything.
