Goeglein plagiarism worse than feared

Smell that? Someone keeps stinking up the place with their wafto gas.

Why, it's the disgraced Tim Goeglein, a Bush aide who was already caught plagiarizing an essay and using it as the basis for a piece he wrote for an Indiana newspaper.

The Goegster had longtime links to the Religious Right before being hired as Bush's liaison to religious organizations. Rev. Ted Haggard - who later got caught up in a sex and drug scandal involving a male prostitute - said Goeglein "actually produced the evangelical vote in America." Goeglein, 44, also helped advance Bush's right-wing economic stances among religious conservatives and helped push John Roberts's and Samuel Alito's Supreme Court nominations through.

Now his plagiarism has been found to be much worse than everyone thunk. The Fort Wayne News-Sentinel now says that out of 38 columns Tim Goeglein has written for the paper in the past 8 years, 20 of them have been found to be plagiarized. So it wasn't just a one-time slip-up. He's a serial plagiarist.

As a result of all this bad press, the Goegster has now resigned in disgrace from his White House post.

Seems like hardly a day goes by anymore without some Republican insider embarrassing themselves like this.
