Another gulag murder goes unpunished

Maryland has been an epicenter of abuse in youth facilities - a major scandal that made headlines statewide in the early part of the decade. But it looks like it's going to continue as another right-wing judge has let the abusers off the hook.

Last year, a 17-year-old detainee lost consciousness while being physically restrained by guards at Bowling Brook Preparatory School, a private reform school in Maryland. He died soon after. Six guards were charged with reckless endangerment - when the charge should have been murder.

Not only did the killers not get charged with murder. Carroll County Circuit Judge Michael Galloway has now dismissed all the charges completely. The court's excuse was that the guards' refusal to call 911 within a half-hour of knocking the teen unconscious is not reckless endangerment. It isn't??? If someone is unconscious for 30 minutes, that's plenty of time to call 911. No excuses.

And the teenager was restrained not just for a half-hour, but for 3 hours. Almost anywhere else in the world, this alone would have been illegal. But not in BushAmerica. The dismissal of the charges came despite the fact that the death was ruled a homicide by medical examiners.

The school closed a couple months after the incident - but others like it remain all over America.

Gulag guards enjoy a privileged status and no statute controls them - and the 6 scuzzy fucks who killed the teenager at Bowling Brook are no exception. Six child killers are walking free.
