Legendary rocker blasts Huckabee for misusing song

If you're an old dude like me, you may recall the song "More Than A Feeling" by Boston, which was a staple on rock and pop radio back in my day. Now the guitar-heavy '70s smash is being played at rallies for Mike "Gomer Pyle" Huckabee's much-ridiculed presidential campaign.

This doesn't sit too well with the forces of Bostondom. The band's founder Tom Scholz, who wrote "More Than A Feeling", says Fuckapee is using the song without permission. This is all the more vexing because Scholz is an Obama supporter. Scholz said his band "has never endorsed a political candidate, and with all due respect, would not start by endorsing a candidate who is the polar opposite of most everything Boston stands for." Scholz also said Huckabee needs to "stick to music recorded by Far Right Republicans."

As we said in the '70s: Burn!

Already, the McCain campaign has had to stop playing John Mellencamp's "Our Country" and "Pink Houses" after Mellencamp - a John Edwards supporter - complained about this abuse.

With all the conservative music out there lately, you'd think the Republicans would be using that instead of misappropriating songs by political opponents. I guess conservative tunes don't exactly elicit excitement.

If there's any classic rock 'n' roll song that describes Huckabee, it's the Beatles' "Taxman."
