DLC congressman loses primary

The man you see here is Albert Wynn, a Democratic representative from Maryland.

Or more accurately, he's a DLC representative from Maryland. Too often, Wynn votes with Republicans even on major issues. That's what the Democratic Losership Council is all about, after all. He supported Bush's Iraq War, the Republicans' rogue bankruptcy bill of 2005, and the Bush regime's energy bill.

Well, even in a world where the DLC has too much sway over the party, Wynn has just managed to lose the Democratic primary to a local activist named Donna Edwards, who quite rightly criticized Wynn as too conservative. Wynn lost despite raising heavy corporate donations from powerful energy and banking interests.

So the DLC may finally be facing the beginning of the end of its misrule over the once-great Democratic Party.
