Same county, same uniform bullshit

I told you last month that the public school system in Trenton, Ohio, used a bogus survey as an excuse for mandatory school uniforms. Now this problem is spreading to nearby Hamilton, Ohio, where the city school board is trying to pull the same right-wing stunt.

State law says public schools must give folks 6 months notice before instituting uniforms. (The First Amendment says public schools can't require uniforms at all, but that's a whole other matter.) So the Hamilton schools have to get on the ball if they want to have uniforms by the time the next school year begins.

Recently, the school system sent surveys to parents in the district about the proposed uniform policy. These have to be returned by February 15.

You know damn well what's gonna happen here. If I was a betting man, I would bet you - just bet you - that any parents who have ever challenged the system didn't get a survey. And that when any remaining parents fill out the surveys and express their opposition to the uniforms, the school system is going to claim most of them didn't arrive by February 15. You can bet the farm on it.

Naturally, the spittle crowd has already freeped the comment section of a newspaper website with their semiliterate bigoted bullshit about the matter. Gotta hand it to the Internet: It sure does draw the loons out of hiding!

(Also, a humorous note: One of the right-wing kooks who supports uniforms said, "i think this is a very good plan, but i can bert money that the school system is going to shoot it down because it is to good of a idea." Yes, the spelling errors are theirs. Hey, smartypants, are you gonna ernie money too? Hahaha!)
