GOP thug jailed for starting fight

See this creepy Charles Manson look-alike? It's Will Statom, registration deputy of the Republican Party in Muncie, Indiana.

In a major local scandal, county election officials refused to process hundreds of voter registration forms that were gathered in a nonpartisan voter drive. Local Democrats and others were rightly peeved at election officials' corruption, as it meant the volunteers' efforts were wasted. They went down to the county building to get answers.

When nothing but excuses were offered, they decided to leave. Only then did it get violent.

Statom, a member of the county's voter registration board, angrily confronted the group and the media. First, he made a crude remark at Muncie Star Press reporter Nick Werner, who was there covering the story. Then, Statom shoved Werner, put him in a headlock, and pounded him on his head.

But Will Statom wasn't done yet! He then landed a punch on Democratic congressional candidate Barry Welsh's kisser when Welsh tried to break up the attack.

Police arrived and arrested Statom. The violent kook was charged with battery for his attacks on Welsh and Werner.

This right-wing thug is on the county election board???
