Bunning tantrum costs transportation workers

Another temper tantrum on the Senate floor by Jim Bunning? Or is this the same shitfit that blocked the unemployment extension?

Or is Bunning's entire life just one long, continuous tantrum?

Two thousand employees of the Department of Transportation are now being laid off from work (with no pay) all because Bunning blocked a bill that would have extended highway and transit programs.

Federal reimbursements to the states for road programs are also being stopped because of Bunning's out-of-control ego.

Furloughed transportation workers ought to send Bunning a bill for forcing them to be laid off.

  1. There is no money to pay for this bill. It's about time someone in Congress stood up and made the government face this reality instead of continually borrowing money it doesn't have. Too bad he's only now doing it because he's leaving. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle talk about fiscal responsibility, but their votes say otherwise. Balance the budget. It's government spending that's out of control, not Jim Bunning.

  2. There was no money to pay for your stupid Patriot Act and Bush's stupid war either, yet Bunning supported these things.

  3. It's YOUR Patriot Act and Obama's war now, son. Like I said, Bunning is only doing this now because he's leaving. It needed to be done, but he only found the political will to do it because he doesn't have to face re-election.

Bunning proposed using unspent funds from last year's stimulus bill to pay for the bill he blocked, but Senate leadership rejected this idea.

  8. Stimulus money is for stimulus projects, dumb-dumb.

In a democracy, we don't let one idiot like Bunning steal unemployment benefits from people who need it.
