Volume 17 of The Last Word! Own it now on DVD!

Just joking about the DVD part, but anyway, who would've ever thought you'd see "Vol. 17/No. 1" at the top of an issue of The Last Word? And who would have ever thought it would outlive the Cincinnati Post?

It seems like The Last Word always has a January slump with a dearth of ishes, but it's back in the swing of things with the start of volume 17! How it got to be 17 when it beginned in 1993 can be explained by the fact that 1996 is split into 2 volumes by the PEST hiatus. (Clinton was a DLCer.)

When The Last Word put out its first issue, the Internet was almost unknown outside of a few scientists and highly computer-literate college students. (It was a typewritten publication then.) 'Roseanne' and 'The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air' were some of the most popular sitcoms in the land. And the #1 song on Billboard's Hot 100 chart the week of our first issue was "Informer" by Snow.

After yesterday's small Super Bowl boycott gathering (yes, I really did go to a boycott gathering yesterday evening), I returned home and assembled ish #446 of The Last Word! The latest edition talks about a lawsuit against a local school system by students who were harassed. It also discusses how the worst high school in the world so laughably expects its number of students to double!

It's news you can use, and you can read it and peep right here:
