Bush power grab repealed!

It's after 2 AM, so I'm not gonna go into a lot of detail about this, but anyway...

A couple years ago, idiot Duncan Hunter introduced a bill that let Bush nationalize the National Guard to break up public assemblies - even if the governor of the state where the assembly took place opposed misusing the National Guard in this manner. Naturally, Bush signed his friend Hunter's bill into law.

Patrick Leahy was furious. The National Guard leadership and numerous governors joined Leahy in supporting a bill to repeal this new law.

Persistence paid off. The effort to repeal Bush's power grab got rolled into the latest defense authorization bill, which Bush signed. Yes, Bush actually signed a bill that repeals one of his own screw-ups, believe it or not. (Granted, the repeal was buried in a much larger bill.)
