Henry Louis Gates receives death threats

I'm not exactly sure how many symbols from the key for this blog I should use for this entry, but then again, it would probably just distract from the real story.

After Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates Jr. accepted a White House invitation to have a few beers with the cop who arrested him in a now-infamous incident, Gates revealed that he's been the target of right-wing death threats since the arrest. Someone even posted signs outside his home attacking him.

These threats have become so severe that university officials have suggested that Gates move. He has already had to change his e-mail address and phone number.

Sounds familiar, doesn't it? I had to change mine because of the threats I used to get. Makers of these threats seem to be of a privileged class who are under the control of no law.

There's one thing I can guarantee you: It's not "the liberals" (to borrow a favorite wingnut phrase) who are making these threats.
