We're up against stupid

That's it, folks. I don't think we can do this much longer.

The other side has just set the bar for stupid so high that I wonder if it isn't pointless to keep paying them any heed.

This goofy gaffe comes to us from that voice of Potemkin populism Bill O'Reilly.

A few days ago, O'Really received a letter - apparently from a viewer in Canada - that asked, "Has anyone noted that the life expectancy in Canada under our health system is higher than the U.S.A.?"

O'Reilly's response? He said, "Well, that's to be expected, Peter, because we have 10 times as many people as you do."

What?

Oh, I guess that explains why Canadians live to be 700 years old.

You're an idiot, Bill.

This is a bit like the preposterous claim by the late Helen Chenoweth (the Michele Bachmann of the '90s) that a new species automatically appears each time a species goes extinct.
