Town hall thug attacks Rosa Parks poster

Dumb seems to be par for the course for the wingnutosphere over the past week. Not just regular dumb like they had been, but high-octane dumb.

The rightist brain trust continues to set the bar for kookish stupidity mighty high - this time by disrupting a town hall meeting conducted by Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri) yesterday.

At this meeting, a woman was booed by Republican operatives when she showed up carrying a Rosa Parks poster. After she rolled up the poster and stowed it safely under her seat, a reporter asked her about the poster.

When she unrolled the poster for the reporter, some Nazi marched up to her, grabbed the poster, and crumpled it into a ball. McCaskill actually yelled at the assailant from the stage to back off - but it was of no use.

The victim of this attack tried retrieving the ruined poster, before police broke the altercation up.

Think none of this happened? Well, here's the proof it did:

The media only showed the victim being led away by cops. The media made it look like she had started the altercation. But this video proves otherwise.

This behavior by the modern brand of right-wing thugs is not entirely new - but until recently, they didn't have many cameras on them. This incident is almost exactly like the display of right-wing violence at the Bush rally in Devou Park in 2000 - except no footage has ever emerged of that assault.

As in the Devou Park Showdown, the guy who tore up the sign is a cowardly Nazi. There's simply no other words for it.

We don't disrupt right-wingers' $100-a-bowl shark fin soup luncheons. So what business do they have disrupting town hall meetings?
